General Interest: Academic Communication Essentials

Program Description: 

This course strengthens the foundations of language and writing, giving students the tools to succeed in school and beyond. Learners build grammar mastery by practicing sentence structure and clarity, while exploring morphology to understand how words are formed and decode new vocabulary. They expand their academic vocabulary through contextual practice that supports reading comprehension and confidence with complex texts. Step-by-step guidance in academic writing helps students organize ideas, craft arguments, and polish their style, while critical thinking activities encourage them to question, compare, and evaluate information. Alongside this, students develop communication skills through speaking, presenting, and collaborative projects, gaining confidence in expressing themselves clearly. 

Registration closes Friday, May 15, 2026. Please note that programs will run pending sufficient enrollment.
